I've got a turned up 148GTL and a Texas Star 350 High Drive. Can I use these two together as is?
Also, to power the amp, can I wire it to the main wires at the fuse box in a 2005 Columbia? The batteries are a long way from the dashboard.
What gauge wire? It has a 30A in line fuse.
Thanks.
Amp questions.

Connect to the battery is best. I'd run a 8ga wire.

I wouldn't think a 148 would over drive that amp, PM Rolling Radios he's top notch with amps and install..
If it were me I'd go 4 gauge direct to the battery but thats just me.. -
That would be welding cable which is over kill for an amp that draws maybe 30 amps at peak. 10 guage is big enough for a 350. It will flow more then enough current to feed that amp without any heating issues to the wire.

I wouldn't wire the Amp to the fuse box, I would go straight to the battery, least with the Hot wire...The negative wire you could just ground to the frame...And since you said it was a long way to the battery, I wouldn't use anything smaller than 8ga...(be sure to use the same gauge wire for your negative side)
You said the 148 was "turned-up"....Turned-up to what? DK higher than 4w's and your asking for problems... -
22 on SSB, "swings" 17 on AM. Or so I'm told. Was also told that since the amp is a high drive, it would not be an issue.
-
No that shouldn't be a issue...I would still keep the DK under 4w's tho...

4 gauge is not welders cable.....

Dang near, still huge over kill for a 350 HD amp.
