They hired me and don't care at all for as of July. If sleep apnea is all you have the doc, at least the one in tulare did, will give you a two year card.

I actually spoke with the safety manager today and he said if I do have it they will still hire as long as it is
    treated responsibly.

RIZENPHOENIX How do you power your CPAP machine as Knight does not allow install of power inverters ?

I have a low watt model that runs just fine on a 150 watt inverter that I plug into the 12v outlets in the truck

    Gulf Coast Trucker Thanks this.

It's interesting that I never heard of this until about the past 10 yrs! For those who 'succumbed' to it, was it just labeled 'natural death?'

Or is it just more prevalent because of our more recent national obesity?

According to the doc I went to obesity really has nothing to due with it. The problem is anatomy in the throat. So I don't get where the trucking companies are using th BMI / Neck size to determine that you need an evaluation and sleep study. A lot of companies will pay for the study and help with the cost of he CPAP however Knight does not.

Nobody has sleep apnea which would cause them to crash a rig! Must have to do with insurance or dying and not getting 'Knignt's freight' to 'their' customer on time...[IMG]

It is hard on your heart, so usually the cause of death is a heart attack. It's not always do to weight either. I've known I've had it since the mid 90's when I was 6'5" and about 225.

That's not a bad weight for your height. My S-I-L played football (Center) in HS at 6'4" & 220 lbs, but now married with a 3 kids weighs around 250 lbs. But being long waisted, it 'looks good' on him!
