There are lots of threads about Stevens Transport. Stevens is a starter company. All Starter companies suck. That is a fact of life. Your job is to survive 6 months or 1 year with the company. You will hate it. You as a student have no idea what the trucking industry is. It is a profession. Not a job. The starter companies have very high turnover rates.
It is my understanding that Stevens is a reefer company. You will sit a lot. Your pay will be low and all over the board. It gets better.
Listen, learn and move on.Sam Hell and flightwatch Thank this. -
Im planning to start with Stevens on the next week after your orientation date. From what I been hearing about them, they sound like one of the best training companies to start of with

I work with the new hires. Orientation starts Sunday morning. I will go over the physical paper work and company policies. Then around 1030am the whole class will go outside where I teach checking slack adjustors and post trip inspections and how to adjust mirrors. Then lunch then driving tests and skills practice... Mostly backing. Monday is your long day. 6am physicals start with inhouse doctor. Then class discussing safety, training, sexual harrassment, insurance, etc... After dinner they send you out side for more road tests and backing skills until 10 pm. Tuesday more of the.same except the day starts at 8am... Wednesday payroll and more class then u start getting dispatched with trainers

I worked for Stevens from 1998 to 2000. My experience was largely positive. Despite the bottom of the barrell wages, the miles are there if you work the meat runs between the east coast and the midwest and dont mind being out 6+ weeks. You will learn pretty much all you need to know in their training program.

I am a recent CDl 'A' graduate headed to Stevens on my own dime. Can anyone tell me what day of the week Orientation 1 for recent graduates (3days) begins?...and the best mode of transportation to the Crossland Hotel in Mesquite from the DFW airport aka Love Field? Any inormation would be appreciated. Stay safe out there and thanks in advance!

there are a few ways to do it the recruiter should have told you a phone number to call when you arrive it will probably be john driving the cab if its in the daytime if its at night there is another driver and i went to americas best instead of crosslands they use crosslands for the school students mostly. my orientation was started on a sunday and was out in a truck thursday
