yep spacetrucker your right i just went to getloaded and i found loads from richmond, va to los angeles found 7 different loads 7 different mileages but they was between 2550 and 2600 miles but all the loads was paying between 4500 and 5000 a load then i searched for loads from la back to richmond, va and found the same mileage on the loads and they was paying the same price 4500 to 5000 a load so my earlier estimation of 3000 a load was underestimated and at 5.5 mpg with 4.10 a gallon so i think i could do alright with skyview just waiting to see if their insurance company will clear.

I don't know if skyview changed some of their policies for lease purchase, but my recruitor said the truck and trailer are both leased its why ill get 82% of what the load pays, but they do have other options where u just lease the truck and not the trailer but then the pay percentage goes down. But ill know tuesday everything i need to know and what exactly i have to do to get started. thanks spacetrucker you been really helpful!

yes spacetrucker they have hopper side and a reefer side, but i am doing some research on the hopper side to see if there is just as much freight there as the reefer. if i can find just as much freight nationwide as a hopper ill go that route to keep from having to pay for 50 gallons of extra diesel in the reefer lol.

spacetrucker on getloaded.com Subscribe to it on the truck side for 29.99 a month you can see all three different prices and which one offers you the best deal for your buck so you will never have to be empty again for the most part. There is only 2 things you really need to know when looking up a load, start destination and where you want to end up. Then hit search, and it will give you the start destination, when it picks up when it delivers, the total mileage, how full will the trailer be and how much the freight pays the truck!

Wow! Sounds easy guys! I can't wait till you're millionaires! Getloaded.com? I wish I would have thought about that! All these others guys on the 17pages of this thread must not have checked out Getloaded.com

Ok seriously, those rates in your post above were approximately $1.80/mile to the COMPANY. Your percentage of that is $1.47/mile. So again, how do you come up with an almost $3/mile average? And you better believe a company of this reputation will come up with some bogus deductions. You're almost guaranteed to work for free. Just sayin...

When you and those other 17 guys can take the blinders off and quit comparing the normal lease purchase to this kind of lease purchase you will see how you are making this kind of money.

First off you keep saying mileage pay, when you lease purchase on mileage pay your looking at between 80 cent to 1.10 at best mileage pay, + FSC. When you get paid by what the gross load is you make more money than per mileage pay. What you are talking about is the companies like Knight, Swift, Covenant, The big orange pumpkin, and ETC.

Skyview farms is 100% owner operators, so you think they are going to put anyone in a situation where you are destine to fail all the time?

You can give me 10,000 loads that are considered cheap freight and I can give you 3000 loads that pay above average pay! You can keep letting big brother dictate what you are too make a year and how much you can bring home a week, or you can step out side of the matrix and become an individual and make the difference.

If your gonna settle for what companies tell you to settle for than you are just adding to the problem in the trucking industry. I am going to make a change, or try to make a change for the drivers to better the current situations of it!

The best way to get information on this is to directly speak with at least three o/o's that are doing it already. Look at their settlement sheets and spend a little time picking their brain about the lease. Never take the word of the person that will profit the most by you signing up. Always look at the motivation of the person speaking to you. I have been in this industry for over 27 years, as a driver, broker and owner. I hope that helps.

You keep talking freight rates as a percentage instead of per mile. Where do you think those rates come from? All rates are determined by 5 things.

    Type of freight
Type of truck/trailer to move said freight
When freight has to be there (rush/expidited or regular schedule)
Availibility of trucks to move freight at time of need
How many MILES between pickup and delivery

All freight rates are determined by how many miles the load is. Wether you get paid percentage or not, the rate is still in part determined by how many miles are involved. I'm starting to believe you are either a company plant, or very hard headed and niave.

Good luck in whatever you do. Just be sure to post back with the truth, good or bad, when you enter into this lease.

Keep in mind, everyone works by the hour. It is the one thing we all have in common. Time. Whether you are paid by the move, the mile, or a percentage, it all comes down to how much money you make per hour of work.
