I don't have any contacts with reefers. You might find something around Fresno or perhaps Merced. Your best bet is to start calling brokers around the area. You didn't mention where you are sitting, so I assume it is in Southern California. I have a friend who just returned from California. He said that rates are pretty lousy right now. He did manage to get something fairly decent from a personal contact. He pulls a step deck. We used to get onions out of Merced, but that has been several years ago.

Not much produce goes out of that area. Bakersfield and salanis are better choices..try a & z as a broker..
malhibros Thanks this. -
As of right now the original post is 19 hours old. It is 6 am on a Labor Day weekend Sunday. So the OP posted late morning on a Labor Day Saturday.
This should have been a "Boy did I mess up" post (well, I guess we all know it really is one of those).
Lesson here - never run into a market you don't know and pay attention to holidays on the calendar.carwreck Thanks this. -
i will give the a and z brookers a call thanks for that.

lol I think we all did this before.. that's how we learn!
Malhibros, if you'd like an okay rate out of there I know a shipper that ships chips out of CA can't remember exact locations but you can give them a call and find out. freight is 4-10k lbs so it would save on fuel. PM if you'd like info
