I have been with western for about three months, and already I am not happy with the company. I'm not getting the miles I need in order to make ends meet. When i was hired I was told I would be paid X amount per mile, Big surprise they lied. The only time I get a load over 400 miles is if I decide to get an attitude with dispatch, so much for my nice demeaner. I am averaging 1300-1700 miles a week. Then they seem to have fun asking me to make loads that are so tight only an act of the almighty could pull this off, or having me run into a place with nothing coming out so now I have to sit and wait till they find something I can deadhead too. The longest deadhead I have had has been 200 miles the load I picked up was only 175 miles. on top of the lousy miles and lousy checks they give me a #### automatic , yeh that makes me feel like a truck driver.

    Welcome to Western Express.

As to going Flatbed at western, I would not recommend that. The flatbed operations are in the red, and they have been looking to sell off that part of the company.

LOL, I love when people talk about stuff that they have no clue about.

To the OP... Within 3 months, you should have a good enough relationship with your DM that you could ask for a new truck that isn't an auto.
