Speedloader has a point. The reason most of us back on #3 and drive on #4 is so we can slide the hood of #3 over the hood of #4. By doing this you can gain extra turning room with out having to worry about crunching some cars while pulling into a truck stop parking space or pulling on to a tight dealers lot. Plus if you have a van/suv/wagon or any vehicle with a high backend, it lets you drop the back end of #3 to get your height down.

It's also easier on the sliding deck to have the engine weight over the back posts instead of in front of the forward posts. Sometimes thoo you have to drive that one on anyway to put weight on the drives .... as has been said, there are a 1000 ways to do it .....
