I'm looking for people with experience with either, or both. Wondering which company would be better to run with, as far as who has better paying loads and more availability of loads. thanks!

i work for schneider and run on the choice program. i like it i do well on it. there are plenty of loads i cant say anything about landstar but anything you want to know about schneider just as me and i will try and answer it for you
-
I was leased to landstar dont know anything about schneidet but more than likely landstar has better rates. Any questions let me know.
-
Couple things - says trucker 0-1 year? Not sure that you will qualify for LS if that is the case.
Second - check with people that are on the choice program to see if they have freight coming out of FL area. I am sure you know that FL is a tough area for most companies but companies that allow self-dispatch don't seem to restrict hiring areas like other do.whoopNride Thanks this. -
What kind of rates are you averaging with Schneider? Ive talked to them but they wont give me a straight answer. If you dont want to post it shoot me a PM please. Have a good day all.

Trucker 0-1 year, not so sure you'd qualify for "Choice" either. If you're planning on buying a truck from the "Orange" guys, they'll only put you on mileage, not Choice. As far as Florida goes, I always had to make my way to Atlanta to get loads outa there.

Ive done both, leased to SNI for 5 years been leased to landstar for almost 4. SNI has nothin on landstar. still have friends at sni. Rates are waaaaay better at landstar than SNI. SNI isnt true freedom, its just a step up from forced dispatch. Cant deadhead out of certain areas, trailer searches, etc. Landstar you can find freight wherever you can get it, as long as the brokers credit is decent!
lovesthedrive and whoopNride Thank this. -
What do you mean SNI isnt true freedom? Also, what areas you cant deadhead out of? I never had a problem with finding trailers.. I only book preloaded anyway lol
-
The SNI recruiter told me since I live in Maryland, I have the Choice Program option. How can I get their assurance? I am NOT going to get a truck from SNI and be tied down to that obligation if on their milage program. Forget it! How can I be sure of getting the Choice Program before signing on the dotted line for my SNI truck?
P.S.
1st yr. Was with SNI (2011)
2nd yr. with Con-Way ( 2012)
Next year, Choice Program (2013) -
When i was there you werent allowed to deadhead out of florida.....
