I haven't ever heard anything bad about Averitt, Star or US Express. I know Averitt does a lot of local/regional LTL work, so that's something to keep in mind if you're looking to go to the house after a year or two. Covenant and PAM are a mixed bag. Swift would be my 2nd to last choice with Werner bringing up the rear. Never heard of McElroy or Falcon. so I can't help you there.

    Good luck.

Hi dont get yourself push down by these people sometimes they talk opinion based on stuff that are not as accurate as they think not to say that CRST is the best company because they are not they lovee to take their time and the pay is fairly low but not as bad as PAM and PRIME that Pam pays 12 cents per mile and PRIME is about 17 when they pay for your training. I will be there on CRST September 10 2012 too and will do the 8 months thing too. I have read and search all over and after exausting all my options PAM and CRST where my last 2 options and I chose crst because they have the best pay and the smallest contract of the 2. Its about making the best of the crappy situations we will get.

Where did you get that info?? According to their respective websites, Pam pay $300/wk during training, and Prime pays $600/wk or $.12/mile during training. Honestly, that's really no different than any other companies training pay. Heck, Primes $600/wk training pay is pretty #### good if you ask me.

Bit of advice from a fellow TN Vols fan, check out how long the people who respond to you have been driving and check out some of their previous posts (click on their screen name and go to View Forum Posts). You tend to get a mixed bag of attention on some of these posts, 'trolls', know-it-alls, job hoppers, students, wannabes, etc.

We have a great team this year. It's about time. Have you heard about united trucking? The poster that said they take your 5 grand, and then don't place you in a job has me worried since I start on Monday. Any info would be helpful.

I Applied for both Prime and PAM along with CRST. Prime haven't updated their site in over 2 years and it says they will pay for your training for a full year of driving with them. Their pay grade right now is 17 cents per mile this one is tricky for me to give more information because I did most of the stuff over the phone. In the chase of PAM they run you through Driver Solutions where they will check everything is fine and you will go to C1 Indianapolis they will pay 12 cents per mile in a year of driving with them this can be found in their page easily and Driver Solutions site too. And they say $300 a week for the time you will be with your trainer but after that is 12 cents a mile. CRST have a bad reputation as well as PAM all over the place people talk crap about them but their program are the most realistic on this economy. But in reality in the latino society we have a little saying that says "Camino malo pasalo de prisa" wish means The bad road must be travel rather fast and CRST is only 8 months. What piss me off the most is not the companies but rather the drivers complaining. Why I say this? I applied for six different programs and in all of them they told me the same thing its going to be a bumpy road not much home time and low pay for a while wish means they know this when they get in the business. Maybe I had the best 6 recruiters in the world that they told me things like they are even when they aint good business or simply people around here just doesnt get it. Nothing personal is just that everything they talk about CRST happens in every other company.

Its true theres people like me that are only students but that doesnt take out that we do our homework. Other drivers with experience often talk with somekind of grudge to the companies and that makes up for bad judgement too. Also theres the old school people that live in the old testament and havent move forward and when their ideals collide with the new stuff they make other judgements. Like I said before I applied for six different programs and PAM and CRST where my last 2 options and PAM lost me when they wouldn't take me because they couldn't verify one of my previous jobs because they speak Spanish in Puerto Rico. So I went with my final option CRST I never said they where the best but out of my six applications they where the only ones that offer me something viable for me.
