Been up since 0330 even though I did not set the alarm and could have slept in at the Gary yard!

Well, had a pretty good week. 1876 miles with 4 loads, on a shortened week.... Got back to homebase this afternoon around 5:30, and some dude claiming to be the "property manager" for the walmart center that I have parked at on weekends for almost a year now was kicking out the 6-7 guys who always park there, saying he was going to get us all towed if we didn't move our trucks. Ugh.
So, I hopped back in th truck and drove to nearest Pilot to park for the weekend. Great, now I have to find a new weekend parking spot I guess. (Insert expletives here)
But, back to the weekly recap, dropped first delivery in Harvey, IL on Tuesday morning, got reloaded in E. Chicago and made it all the way to consignee in Pittsburgh so delivered it early that night. Then up to Butler, PA reload headed to Frankfort, IN, again got there that night and stayed at consignee's. Thursday reloaded in Portage going back to Pittsburgh, made it to consignee's again stayed overnight after delivering early. Reloaded in Pittsburgh, relaxed, took my time, enjoyed the drive home today.....
    But then I got home.....

I would go in the store and ask just to be sure its not just some "concerned citizen" taking it upon themselves to give you guys some grief. Had a dude pull that stunt with me over my current parking spot many years ago. Tried at first saying he worked for the farm coop which I park next to (whoops the coop dont own the land I park on lol) so then it was oh well Im actually with the city, really? lets see sone identification then (whoops no ID and impersonating a city employee/government official) I then asked him if he wanted to kiss my backside or me call the cops. He couldnt leave fast enough lol. He still got a visit from the local 5-0 lol. He lived a block up the street and said us drivers were disturbing his sleep when we came in late at night. Boo freakin hoo,buy some ear plugs. Its not like I or any of the other trucks run straight pipes or goto blowing the air horn. What a jackwagon (as R Lee would say )

Started feeling like I was coming down with something on Tuesday before I got my first load. It hung with me all week but did not see to get any worse. Last night it moved on down into my throat and gave me a grand dad of a sore one. So I got up at 0400 and headed up to the er 10 miles away. The Doc agreed with my diagnosis of a sinus infection. So they gave me one pill and a prescription for the rest.
I am glad I went up because since I do not hardly ever get sick, I knew this was not going to go away on its own. Was in and out and back home in an hour. Just like trucking, the early hours are the best....lol:Ambulance car v2:

Oh boy...what a week, and it's still not over! Started Tuesday empty bright and early. Got sent to Port of Indiana to pick up skidded coils at Federal Marine Terminal. After a 195 mile deadhead, I arrive at 12:30. Find out everyone is on lunch till 1 pm...wait. Got checked in about 1:15, behind about 10 other drivers. Pull around to loading area and........wait.
There's five Maverick's loading and we all start getting chains and binders out....some "guy" starts yelling at everyone, "you guys CANNOT use chains!" ........ok.......... Called safety, "You guys all will use chains, if the shipper has a problem with that, tell them to call Maverick." Loaded, secured (with chains), tarped. Went to get bills as was told that if we used chains that we are gonna lose the account...I just said "ok, thank you sir, have a nice day!"
Drive on Wednesday to Springdale and unload. Along the way I got a preplan to pick up at Ft. Smith wednesday and deliver in Oxford, MI on Friday at 4pm. Preplan got canceled about 30 mins later. Sent in my MT and got a W/A. Same as preplan except less weight and deliver on Saturday at 1300! No early delivery....must be Saturday....aaarrrgh!
Had a Maverick convoy from Ft. Smith, 3 of us all going to Michigan.
Since I had about 26 extra hours on this load I went home Friday about noon. Got a call from Callie, asking to do a repower after I got MT and Saturday. Told her sure, no problem, be more than happy to do it.
Well......now here I sit waiting to get unloaded. Consignee tells me "we don't have the room for it until 6pm"
    ,..................................
    WTF!
gonna get shafted on this whole deal.......

We go where ever we need to but mostly Midwest and east coast with an occasional jaunt to Canada. Usually once they get you east, they'll keep you there a couple of days before they head you back west. I'm sitting at the Flying J in Frystown PA right now with a 10am delivery in Bethlehem tomorrow morning then an 80 mile dead head to take a load 21 miles to Manchester PA. I'll get the 350 short pay for it and will be starting my week off with 1400 miles by Monday morning.
