I mentioned "Swift nor any other company turns over 90% of their employees on any meaningful basis" for a reason ... in this case being Swift has a business model, the results are what we see today of course. For whatever reason apparently that's what it takes to keep 15,900 trucks moving. Turnover is part of their business model, not a mistake and it's a common trend well-known throughout the industry as a whole anyway.
BTW: They run 11,900 tractors w/company drivers and have 4000 owner-operator tractors running 50,600 trailers/6,200 intermodal containers in the United Statesand Mexico. Looks like a pretty impressive company to me! -

Swift Gives Student Drivers That Are Veterans A .04 Per Mile First Year Increase!
There, is that a better headline? A Vet taking advantage of this program driving 100,000 miles their first year, and not having to pay back the 3900.00 would be like getting a .04 per mile wage increase! -
It sounds like they are trying to do a noble thing here. Are you required to do "team" driving for a certain period of time, i understand you will probably have to be with a trainer for a bit, but after that do you get your own truck? And that is $4000 plus $3900 perk for your first year, $7900 is a pretty nice little sign on bonus. AND I get to keep my GI Bill too, making more and more sense for a guy in my shoes......

You mean IF a vet makes it a year . 12,000 newbies don't . .04 more a mile with Swift is still substandard bottom feeder pay .

They are giving the same advantage to non-vets,, free training for a 1yr obligation,, so tell me,, HOW is this "giving" anything to our vets? It's just another scam by the low-lifes at Swift to CON vets into being their dirtbags.RickG Thanks this.
