Countryboy- hey- a RN for 10+ Yrs so a little knowledge. . YES. compression sox are great- but keep n mind- they are only pumping blood back up to your knees- not all way to ur heart. But it's a great idea and I make my hubby wear em. They sell em at Walmart in the mens sox area. Glad Ur thinking ahead. U don't have to be ovrweight to need them. Healthy young peeps die all the time from an air embolus. Most common is post op from ortho sx. Then long air flights. WOW! No more medical stuff now. Mayb later

Well think my turbo is going bad. When ever truck acc it has like a thumpin noise... Any clues?

Turbos will usually whine/hiss/ sound like an old metal fan when going out never heard of them thumping accept after climb when turbo spools down and that is the metal fan reference above. I would guess clutch/tranny related since its only when there is a hard pull. Does the truck vibrate or just sound funky when it's making the noise. Also if turbo was that bad it would A) not pull a hill and B) probably pop an engine light for boost pressure before the turbo completely went into self destructo mode as that is REALLY bad for the motor. Tiny shards of metal don't agree with cumbustion motors as I learned once with the F250 I had.

One other thing to quick check if u think it's turbo is oil leaking from near the actual turbo around turbine housing as well as whether or moth you are getting funky smoke from exhaust.
