Sorry I go by what brad in cedar rapids preached but I really don't care, I don't care to know the ins and outs of the company as there's better money to be made elsewhere.

This is correct. One of the many reasons I didn't lease with them.

Just to be fair, they are not way over the chart. They are above the threshold, as are more carriers than you would think. I drive for crst with my wife, she went there to get her cdl. Our truck has not been unduly targeted for inspections. We have done 2 level 2s in 7 months. Not unreasonable at all. They do have many issues, but we should be fair. Pay is not the best, but if you are looking to get started with this industry, you could do worse. Not a lot, but there is worse. Every company has bad weeks for drivers, and every company has bad fleet managers/dispatchers. They have no more than their fair share. You can make decent money, but you need to"earn" the right. Dont be late, ever. Dont refuse or argue loads. Be flexible. Same advice I would give if you are going to be a company driver with ANY company.

I also drive, with my wife, for CRST. There are some good ways to save on the road. Get to know his FM. Pack him food. Have him learn how to get reimbursements. It is fairly easy.

He needs to go to his Fleet Manager to get that taken care of. They can do so quickly.

Okay I have a pre-hire with CRST and see allot of negative comments on this forum about them, there offering me a dedicated route home everyweek and paying to send me to local school, have CDL but have to go back for 160 hours. is the team thing really that bad?? plus the 8 month contract..

No, it is not. They give you a list of available team mates. You call and sort of interview them. They will be doing the same to you. You will probably go through a couple before you find one that is a good match. Sort of like dating, lol.

Its good to be vocal I met a guy a county over from me that I can possibly team with. Last time I worked here I had an bad experience. With trainer. This time I'm actually backing. He's only been driving 1.5 years is the bad thing my last lead was driving 20+ years an just quit. I might do a year here an quit or maybe take an lead class I don't know yet
