I was aware of the EOBR requirements, I am using a Peoples Net model now for the company I am leased with and actually it is not bad and that is coming from my last company job running paper logs/without a qualcom etc for 3 yrs regional dedicated JIT freight...so a major mindset changeIt does require more thought process on planning, and can be a pain if held up at a customer
but overall I like it better than running with a qualcom and having to match logs to that as I have done in the past.

I grossed 172 last year on 80,000 miles. This year will most likely be about 140, with a higher rate per mile. Here at LS, we go for the less miles more revenue aspect vs the 150,000 miles to make $200k mentality. A few weeks ago, I grossed 3500 to the truck on less than 400 miles and slept in my own bed every night. If I were on the road I would have grossed more but netted far less. Net is what you're interested in, and after you learn the system and make relationships (6 months or so, less for a go getter) you'll figure it out. Good luckflatbed22 Thanks this.

It's that way outside of Landstar too. The more brokers you develop a nice relationship, your loads get better once they start to work more with you. Some of my local stuff has already increased $30-50 per load on 80-90 mile loads. Loads there were paying $300+. -
I love it at LS. I go out for 2 weeks and bring in on the average of $4700 net. I then take 1 to 2 weeks off without worrying about money. I also work part time in Law Enforcement . My last carrier I leased onto I stressed and was not able to take time off as I do now .... I could bring in much more revenue but to be honest I'm tired of trucking. Yeah.... u do pick ur load off the board. But u will be better off if u have a family who can watch the board for u while u r driving.
