I'll let you come to my house and look at my Pay check stub, and my log book, I will loan you a calculator, and you can figure it out yourself. I also have my Transflo receipts, attached to Logs I have sent in. yes there is a ongoing driver shortage, but in the oilfield right now there is a critical shortage of tanker drivers who can pass drug screens, Hazmat and TWIX requirements. And want to live near the area, where all the work is now. I figured out along time ago that if you are going to work. Work where the money is! Right now it's the Oilfield my friend, check it out.

    Ben Gunn Thanks this.

The great pumpkin needs to stay out of the patch. It's no place for newbies fresh out of a CDL mill if they're sending them up to rigs. Oilfield is an area for experienced driver's who can get themselves out of a bind. To be frank, unless you've been taught a lot in your training beyond just getting down the road you shouldn't be in oilfield, and Schneider needs to get out.

Look, I'll come clean - I'm a newbie. Last year, I got my CDL and hired on with Schn to go over the road. I went for about a month before they started recruiting guys hard to come to Victoria to run. I considered staying OTR, but after a couple of slow weeks I decided I didn't feel like fighting my DBL for miles. This job has paid better than what I thought I was going to do my first year as a driver, and I've gotten to come home to my apartment every night.

So some guy on the internet thinks I'm a crappy driver or I'm being exploited or something or other - #### it. I'm doing all right. My plan right now is to stick with Schn for a bit and see how they get their nonsense straightened out. If things work out and the pay still seems all right, then I'll probably stick with it for a while yet. Other stuff might pay a bit better, but I'd rather stick around for a bit than immediately go bouncing off trying to set up another job. If things don't work out here, then there's a classified ads paper at Big Vic's with ads for five different other companies hiring people around here.

Actually, one of the plusses of this account is that when isht happens, you have lead drivers less than an hour's drive away who can come and try to bail you out. This has especially helped when we've gotten people stuck in the mud at the load site and needed some digging done. Some drivers get a little mad about all the babysitting, but I get the idea it's done the new guys a bit of good to have people around close by to lend a hand.

What did you do in the Army
Have you considered making the Army a carrier
Depending on if you want Road or local I think I can hook you up with a company that will train you to drive with out charge
While you work the dock and spot trailers that is move trailers around a truck yard this is a great way to learn to back up
But be careful some of these companies try to loop you in to go on the Road with them for 1 year and charge you 6000k for the traning on top of it
and then pay you very little per mile my buddy just left one and he said his checks where almost under 200 per week and he ran his butt off
needless to say he left that company but they will try to collect on you for the training oh they say we dont do that hey are full of it

China has been at it for 6000+ years with any nation close enough to get with it, in the middle between China and Russia is Mongolia who since prehistoric times, has been inhabited by nomads who, from time to time, formed great confederations that rose to prominence.

maybe Charlotte's_Web (the web) has something else on the board for us but for my $.02 I am banking with Central bank of Mongolia when I get on at a oilshale vacuum tanker operation

see Mongolia - CIA - The World Factbook for details
