    Hello,

I just thought I would post a little about myself. I am a Navy Veteran of 20 years. Some would call that retired but I call it still working for a living. Including my Navy time, I have spent the last 30 years in aviation or running my own business with my wife. I recently graduated from Dootson School of Trucking in Ventura, CA. I have my class A with all the endorsements, HAZMAT, doubles/triples and Tankers. I want to head to TX and drive tankers in the oil patch. Just need to clean up some loose ends here first.

My wife and I have been living in our fifth wheel RV since 2009 and we move around a lot.

That is it for now. See you on the road!

Who was your instructor at Dootson? I just graduated a week ago with Charlie as my instructor.

    Joel,

    Congratulations on your license.

How many lessons did you sign up for and how many did you end up needing to pass everything?

    Hello GeeandJ,

I signed for 20 lessons, 10 hours and ended up buying another 16 lessons, 8 hours BEFORE I tested. I passed my DMV skills and road test the first time out.

    Congrats Joel!

I signed up for 10 lessons, 5 hours, and bought another 18 lessons, 9 hours, before I tested at DMV. I also passed my pre-trip, air brake, skills, and road test the first time.

I start orientation at Schneider on Sept 11th.

    Good luck!

Schneider has many many different types of jobs, including tankers.

Just go to www.schneiderjobs.com and look up the jobs available where you are going to live.

The recruiters differ depending on the job you are interested in.

    Have fun!
