Flatbeddin' with good ole' Western Express

how is the dry van at western express on west coast?

 

Hey Busy Vixen, I had a couple questions to ask if you don't mind. ... I am attending orientation for Western Express in 2weeks. I wanted to know what is the most loads you haul. EX: do you haul more lumber or more steel or more over size loads. I am just curious because I want to know what I am getting into. I'm not a picky person I just want to know what is the primary loads a flatbed driver will haul for Western Express. Thank You.

B.Boy84 you will haul almost anything from coils, steel even gold or copper, now what you won't haul is an over size load that's a different division and I believe it's 6 months experience required.

 

Okay, cool. Do you drive for the company? I have 2yrs exp OTR, but no flatbed exp. I look forward to driving again. I haven't been on the road for 3yrs.

 

Incorrect I got an over size load my second week out.

 

I was speaking as if he was a rookie, but if you have had prior flatbed experience that's different.

My roommate first load was an oversize load an air condition unit going to California, but he had prior flatbed experience.

 

I'm just finishing up my orientation getting ready to head out with a trainer. They may only require you to go out with a trainer for 2 weeks.

 

Boo I'm in flatbed & I'll tell U what their a trip I did 2 trip & they said send Transflo by Mon so U get paid by Fri & I only pd 4 1 ld same as 3 lds only pd 1 now my old lady & I are going after payroll Good Luck w/That right.....Anyway looking into new job close to home...Wish Me Luck!!!
