come out here and then just tell her......what happens in Alberta stay in Alberta. teeheee seriously though I understand that the thought of picking up and moving most of the way across the country can be pretty terrifing. maybe come out for the winter season and have them come out at Christmas or breakup/spring break so they can look around. For me if I had to choose beween poor or no job back east V.S. great paying job here, extended family gets the boot everytime. wife and kids don't count as extended. sure houses and such cost more here, but its still cheaper in the long run than having one home on each end. its what most of our ancestors did, cuz they couldn't get any flights back to Europe in 1800 and something :)

I just passed this on highway 11 by leslieville.. trailer has the walls folded in and the tractor was flopped over. Prime example of pulling the corner too tightly
. The trailer got sucked into the ditch and that's all there was.

To clarify:FAST cards are required for anything with tdg placards crossing a border. So while flying to the us to work onsite would be exempt, working for Haliburton or tri-can would not as to take the service rigs across would need one.

    I agree.

Don't sell yourself short looking solely for camp and/or airfare paid jobs.

I hate to say it but most of those jobs are offered to people with a high degree of skills and/or certifications that are unavailable in Alberta. You can find them, but there is intense competition for those jobs.

Cal Frac reserves that fly in / fly out rotation for those that have a minimum of 1 year well service experience.

At my work there are many guys from the maritimes out here working and renting a room in town. They fly themselves back every few months to visit and run errands. Sometimes they fly their family out here to visit on their days off.

Once out here with a little experience under your belt, better opportunities will present themselves.

Hello Westcoast & Fishhauler. I have visited Pacific & Atlantic and enjoy both of your oceans. Someday I will visit the Arctic. Being from Manitoba, I am in the middle, and share your situation. Best of luck to you both with job hunting. There appears to be an abundance of work for the right people. Heavenly Father, let us be three of the right people, Amen.
