I've done a lot of research but I would love to hear input from Truckers. Right now, I'm leaning towards PAM

    thanks!

I will tell you how I got my CDL for free and got paid for it...
Apply at a Budweiser distributor. They have their own CDL school and will put you through it using their own trucks. You only pay for license and written test. I did it and got my CDL A, stayed there for 2 years and left them for better opportunities. They pay pretty well too. SOme guys stay there and make a career out of throwing beer. The guys I graduated with that stayed there are now salesmen with company cars and ALOT of bonus benefits and extras. Budweiser is a great company to work for. Hope this helps.

I went through the PRIME student driver program 18 months ago, they have done ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING they told me they would. I am a successful driver averaging about 2800 to 3000 miles per week and i am a certified CDL instructor now. This is a great company with no BS. They put you up in a hotel, feed you, help you get your learners then you are out on the road within a week, not local, ALL 48 states, learning to drive, then they get you tested, get your CDL and you train with them then you get a truck of your own, Most are brand new Freightliner Cascadia's. Check out the prime forums under company DAC reports, you can get a ton on information there

since it appears you would be just starting career note that "non-dot-regulated" work history only goes back 3 years, after one or two applications you figured it out but it is at issue that if you do one of the "17-page " applications and fudge for clarity on the idea that it "does not matter" be advised that you could tangle decades of potential employment with some errant idea of what the rules state .....

do not let it happen, no matter what, assume you are being head-hunted, if you have ever seen one of those head-hunter letters you might assume an established company would not send such work to the field but if that busts forget civil remedies unless it is some rare exception .....

(edit)-{as noted above}-then all you have to do is avoid the nutcases like I just spent Monday + Tuesday on, though the jaunt was nowhare near wasted you will find office orifice that get nimrod bcs of spelling nowhere as nowhare ..... if that happens here Mastertech will throw them off your thread and if you apply to companies that know what they are doing it will be okay there also as long as it matches up on verify
