I'm in flatbed and making a lot more miles and more money than I did in the van division. Tarp pay helps a lot

-
Thanks man bus leaves in two hours lol but I'm glad so far I've chosen Roehl appleton here I could watch out haha
-
Thank you that makes me feel ten times better I'm just gonna calm my nerves so it doesn't shoot the heart rate up and lots of water lol.
-
Depends,
Coil- 20-40 minutes
Lumber- 1-2 hours
We tarp all kinds of stuff, so it all depends on what im hauling and what shape it is.

I chose flatbed specifically because it involves some manual labor -- even hard work at times. One of my concerns when I was exploring the possibility of this new career, was the capacity to become unhealthy and out of shape (not that I got a whole bunch of exercise working the office during my last career). Anyway, flatbed offers the opportunity for some routine exercise. The fact that it also pays a couple more cpm is just a bonus.
Speaking as a person with 0 actual experience, of course... haha... : ) -
oh ok good to know but never thought flatbed would get more miles.. and do roehl give bonuses for safety and miles?
-
Yes, I have received two safety bonuses for not having any accidents.
You get more miles because you get longer runs. My average run is 1000 miles. In van my average run was 300 miles

now is that 1000 there and back or 1000 there and a 1000 back?
-
Oh yeah, and most importantly, you get to use a new pick up line with the ladies...... "You know... flatbedders tie you down first."Traumadrew Thanks this.
