most van drivers are nothing but steering wheel holders not all but most working in flatbed you will stay in better shape and it is at time very hard work and sad but the pay has just about leveld out the days where you got paid more doing flatbed work are just about gone any way this are my 2 cents...

 

Usually we never return to the same place we picked up from.

It's usually like this.


Pick up Adel GA 155 miles empty
Run the load to Somewhere in IN 887 miles.

Then the next your probs going to Gary if your close for a relay, or Indianopolis for a load of condensers going to WI. It all depends. We visit same customers often and usually delivering to the same place. We do get different customers but when your on the main freight lanes it's predictable. I think I know where I'm going before the planners do.

So how many hours does the trainer drive...how many on-duty are you averaging? What I'm getting at, is it more training or will it become more of a team with the trainer sacked out in the sleeper and the truck rolling round the clock
