most van drivers are nothing but steering wheel holders not all but most working in flatbed you will stay in better shape and it is at time very hard work and sad but the pay has just about leveld out the days where you got paid more doing flatbed work are just about gone any way this are my 2 cents...

Usually we never return to the same place we picked up from.
It's usually like this.
Pick up Adel GA 155 miles empty
Run the load to Somewhere in IN 887 miles.
Then the next your probs going to Gary if your close for a relay, or Indianopolis for a load of condensers going to WI. It all depends. We visit same customers often and usually delivering to the same place. We do get different customers but when your on the main freight lanes it's predictable. I think I know where I'm going before the planners do.MajorMiles Thanks this. -
thanks for that i have a much better understanding now.

My trainer is on the Home Depot account, HD's DC is in Ga. just across the Fl. line and we take #### from there and back there and ALL over Fl. so far I was driving in Davie, Fl. around I595 and the Fl. Turnpike..........Loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Pirate Trucker. Glad it's going good. How's the training with Werner?
What was orientation like? How many hours/day are you vs your trainer driving and how's the training/learning going?
Thanks! -
It's going pretty good, I was in the truck with my trainer(Ken) for the past 5 days. I drove 5 hous the 2nd day, 6 the 3rd day and around 8 today, worked on my backing at least once a day the last 4 days, all of it is a process, the going forward and shifting is working out great but the backing, is good one time and not so good the next. Happy to say I do my " GOAL"{Get out and look) so no Oh #### moments. Thats the main thing.

Good!
So how many hours does the trainer drive...how many on-duty are you averaging? What I'm getting at, is it more training or will it become more of a team with the trainer sacked out in the sleeper and the truck rolling round the clock
