I noticed an air valve...kinda looks like a QR-1 valve.
It is located under/behind the radiator, right near the downpipe on my 99 W900L/Detroit.

It has 3 green air lines running into it.
One large one and 2 smaller equal sized ones.
Anyone know what this is w/o a photo?

It was mounted to the frame behind the radiator once upon a time and I am not sure I could remount it all that easily
as I cannot get to the other side of the bolts/nuts.
I am not sure if wiring tie-ing this and the hoses is sufficient for DOT or not. I think so?

Ditto on the QR valve for your front brakes.

So whats the DOT rule on this valve....can it be wire tied in place or does it NEED to be bolted?

I would bolt it but everything on thee new trucks seems to be ziptied in place so you can Probly get away with it you could always make a new bracket and relocate it

    Well it is stamped QR-1.
It is fed with a really thick hose (1/2") and has 2 delivery (3/8") hoses.

I called KW and had them send me the one for my truck, from Bendix.
It arrived but doesnt look anything like the one I have. I do not know if the valve I have was replaced nor if it's
even correct. But the new valve isnt designed for a (1/2") supply and didnt have this "BAL" port on it??

The original in black, has the supply on the TOP where the new one has a BALANCE port.
This is weird. I went to two different shops today (since KW was closed) and no one has anything like this.

QR-1 Bendix valve with 1/2" supply port and 3/8 delivery ports like your old valve Bendix #229860. Very common valve.

    Hanadarko Thanks this.

Thanks...I think I just figured this out...#229860 is exactly what I need.
I am not sure why KW told me this is what I need and supposed to have/use. It doesnt make sense.

    bender Thanks this.
