Jobs in ND Oil Patch

Do you have a CDL? Experience in the oil fields? It's slow right now and no one is doing much hiring. If you have the required experience then you could certainly get hired somewhere there eventually. You almost always have to be there in ND to get hired. They get a gazillion applications both online and snail mail and perhaps even more phone calls regarding employment. Being there shows that you are serious.

 

Things are definately slow here in ND. I have been here one week from driving down too Tx for a job that didnt pan out and I am having a hell of a time finding a job. As for crude hauling, There are alot of contractors looking for drivers but alot of these contractors are crooks and will rip you off from all the stories I am hearing. The big compnaies arent hiring now so, you are kinda stuck waiting... It sucks cause the bills wont wait... Its a rough time even for experienced drivers with spotless MVR and backgrounds.... I am really considering going back home as my money is running out....

 

richirich, I wouldnt come out here right now. Too much uncertainty. Unless you have a couple thousand dollars to be able to take care of yourself and pay your bills for say 2 months. I wouldnt come out here. You want to haul crude with a company, not a contractor or O/O. Too many stories of guys getting ripped off and hauling illegally with ###### equipment. Wait till after the election then hopefully we will see a boost in this oil field and our economy. Good Luck to you and God Bless Brother...

How much are they paying water haulers down there in STX? From my research i found that 15 to 18/hr was the usual but not sure about the company your at. Me and my boyfriend have considered coming down that way but don't wanna work for that little.

 

cobera67y20, that is my current division that you are using as part of your quote.

 

Water haulers typically start out at around $18. (that's assuming you have more than 1.5 yrs CDL A driving exp.)

Nights get an extra $1 /hr, I will have to double check; but last I knew they were doing a $1 an hr safety bonus as well.


Anything in STX is going to pay less than ND. It doesn't cost $12 for a cheeseburger and fries, or 1500 a month for a 1/2 bedroom studio. Not to mention if you live in TX their is no state income tax. Living here is cheap!

 

Hey D Havens. Tried calling and texted Linda Sue the recruiter. First time I got a hold of her, she said she wasnt available, second time there was no answer. Since then I have never heard back from her. So yes, She is most definately your typical recruiter.... Think I will stay in ND. Better money here. Its not about paying $12 bux for a burger.... Its about making the most coin you can make and the money is alot better out here. I'm willing to deal with winters and living temporarily in the worst place on earth (ND) to get ahead in life and make 100K. Thank you for your help though. God Bless...

 

She was in a class all last week in West Texas (attending our training facility to see just what our facility has to offer for drivers, so she can be more knowledgable about it), this week she is in Kansas City recruiting.

Your typical recruiter doesn't have 22yrs in a truck, has taught at trucking school, a college, been a driver trainer for years etc. She will also tell you straight up how it is. With her phone number broadcasted US wide, plus on here, ever think she has a schedule too?

Not everyone can drop everything to return your call exactly when you want them to. She has 20+ interviews scheduled for the next 3 days, each interview is 1 hr, any paperwork prior to is an hour or more, and then if an offer is extended that's another 1-2 hours. I apologize that you're upset, she will still follow up as the hours in the day allow. If you wish to withdrawl your interest, let her know when she follows up, hate to lose a potential driver, but you have to do what you feel is best for you.
