    Hello All,
I have 10 years driving, 8 pulling doubles/triples. I just had my first and I hope last accident. Because it was my fault, I was terminated. (no hard feelings against the company). I would like to know anyone's experiences with getting hired after having an accident. I really like ltl and would prefer to stay with that. What can I expect? Thanks

If you wouldn't mind, could you elaborate on the accident?

We may be able to give you a more accurate answer that way.

I took a curve to fast and rolled the truck over. It was loaded with 25k of gas generators. About $80k damage. Not sure if that included the 50% of the load that was damaged. Top and side of trailer ripped off. Tractor body messed up, whindshild gone, not sure if frame bent. No other vehicles or injuries.
Wondering if any good companies will be willing to take a chance on me or if I'm stuck with a Warner or Swift like company.

I work for OD and i can tell you your chances would be slim. Now am not saying it's imposable but not good.
A friend of mine tried to get on and he had a minor rear end collision about 8 months before and they said no.

Hey Pumkin, I see you are out of Vegas. There are several LTLs that work out of that area, and some of them are small enough that they may let you in.

I'm sure there are others, these are just the ones that come to mind.
Your best bet is to get yourself a phone book and start looking.
    Good Luck!

I work for ABF. You wouldn't be able to get on with them. Unfortunatley that is the one type of accident that most companies will not look past.

Hey I was just wondering whom you worked for when you had the accident because there is another ltl company in Vegas not mentioned by 'Big Don'...FedEx National LtL (former Watkins M/L). I am not sure what their policy is on accidents.

    Good Luck.

~laughing~..Yeah we did too, left for what we thought would be a better gig only to find out the FedKins was better than most companies out there. Of course we cannot get back on with them at the moment as they are not hiring teams in our area and they are all gung ho about this 5 days out 2 days home thing....we like to to stay out for 5 - 6 weeks and take a week off....none of the companies around us who do LtL with pups are hiring so we are now trying our hand at flatbedding..!! I must admit I really do miss LtL and pulling pups - just love it.

    Good luck in your search.
