I don't even think God could help you through a lease... not with what you posted here.
Faith is good for some things... but faith in a dispatcher or a BFI lease program isn't really good.
Don't let these guys talk you down. The good thing about the internet is you can search and search all day and night till you find the answer you're looking for.

Also some companies allow you to use the truck to transport a load you find incase your company doesn't have any freight in that area.
Ethan123456 Thanks this. -
What you did there is called a strawman. It has nothing to do with netting $190,000 while leasing a truck. You never did answer my 1st question, so I will help you out...
There is no company out there that is going to offer a driver a lease purchase unless it will somehow benefit the company. As a business owner, why is it profitable to me to pay one guy $190,000/yr when I can find a sucker that will be happy to do it for $30,000/yr...or even $20,000/yr. All that I have to do is convince them that if they make my truck payments for me and pay for my fuel to haul my freight, they can own that nice shiny Freightliner in just 5 years. In the meantime, I will take my profits that I got from your labor, and buy 2 new trucks, wash rinse repeat. Eventually I might have to give up a truck or 2, but the reward far outweighs the risk. Like I said earlier, even the specialized/heavy haul guys aren't seeing $190,000 net/yr, and they are the big money makers in this industry.
Everybody that has responded to you in this thread has advised you not to lease, but you've got it figured out. You know how to beat the system...just like the driver before you...and the driver before him...etc. And I'm the one that's ignorant.
Good luck.
EDIT: Did you even look at the link I posted in my previous thread??Last edited: Sep 18, 2012

Name one company that allows you to do this without either
-A: Paying the company an enormous kickback (so much so that it is completely unprofitable) for using their equipment for another companies/brokers load.
-B: Making the other broker/company sign a ridiculous contract for the use of their truck that will have them laughing at you.
-C: Both A and B
Sorry, but that shiny truck that you drive around is not yours to do just what you please with it. -
Actually in the lease agreement for my company it does allow you to run the truck to haul for a broker that had a load in an area where your company didn't have any freight moving.
Not all lease agreements are created equal.
EthanYoungTater and 123456 Thank this. -
What company is that?
-
Roehl transport.
Several guys have used the truck and the companies trailer, to haul freight for a broker. Like one of the van drivers who lives in Florida, roehl didn't have any freight moving from where he was. He got on a load board and got a paper load going to Atlanta. He called his dispatcher and said he was I'm Atlanta now. Dispatcher said he can't use the truck like that, mitch told him to read the lease agreement, it says he can. So he does when he needs a load. The lease agreement says he has to cover up the ROEHL logo on the side if the truck.
Like I said, not all leases are the same. Not all lease purchase deals are equal. The reason they allow you to do that is incase freight slows down and they have nothing moving. Around you, you can still run off of a load board to keep making money.

Very interesting indeed. I would be very interested to see the wording of that in their contract. I know from experience that the very great majority of companies out there will not allow you to do that.
Like you say; not all l/p's are created equal, but they are twins of each other...and in the end, the similarities far outweigh the differences.
I'm done for now. Gotta go to work!! -
Ok I cant help it but I will just point out JUST ONE reason you are wrong.....
When you cover up the name on the side of the truck, who's authority are you running under?
Or I can ask.......
If Roehel know nothing of this load, how does the L/O get his money?
Sorry sir .... Somebody lied to you

That's what I like about their lease purchase program. There are a lot of good things about it, also a few bad but its not like what some people say.
You're not "making their truck payment"
You're not tied down, its a walk away lease
You can actually come out owning the truck. Terms between 12-48 months.
