I have recently graduated from a driving school and need help figuring out which company I should go with. I would like to do flatbed and I have a prehire with BTC (tmc dq'd me cause I went to school full time online and didn't work....everyones situation is different). If I were to go with dry van I have prehires from schneider, us xpress, Star(morton, ill) and I forgot that I also have one with boyd bro's another flatbed. I am not sure what to do wife is freaking about me being gone for 5 weeks straight, but I want to be trained right. I know some of these companies are better than the others. Any advice?.

Don't know anything about flatbed companies only van. My thought is that if you really want to do flatbed, then go with one of those. If it doesn't work out for you, you can always get a job pulling a dry van. As far as the wife freking out, it is going to be a tough adjustment for her especially. I have been doing this for 1.5 years and my wife is still having trouble adjusting to it. Good luck to you.

thats the most dificult part of it!! wife and family adjusting to it, if you can manage that, you go to pick up one of those companies.

The length of time you train has nothing to do with the quality of training you get . The type trainer you get is a crap shoot .

I would rethink the trucking career. Over the road driving usually consists of 4-6 weeks out at time with 3-4 days off during home time. If your wife is freaking now chances are you will be divorced after two or three deployments. Over the road driving is very strenuous on a marriage and unless she is willing to get her license too I would highly recommend you find another career.
