I started another thread on here, but my question seems to fit here. I am waiting for Roehl to review my physical they had me take and issue me a start date for orientation in Gary. I was going over the offer of employment letter they gave me, and was trying to decide between the premium pay, and the tax advantage pay packages. I live in Michigan, so I am not allowed the deduction on my state taxes (a daily living expense?) so the tax advantage looks pretty good, but it will cost me .02/mile. If I do the math and figure 27% for taxes I still come out ahead as far as take-home pay is concerned after the .02 cut. I don't know how accurate the 27% is, I've been self employed for the last 13 years so I'm not used to taxes as a payroll deduction. Since I used the same percentage figuring a paycheck both ways I don't think it matters how accurate it is. Have any of you figured out a formula as to which way is better? Is it a pain to keep track of your receipts and take your own deduction on your Federal taxes for actual expenses?

I'm not sure how much that will all matter actually..they are switching to a new pay package on Oct 1st so what you have in front of you is going to change.

Idk what the flatbed avg is but should be close if not over if I'm not mistaken. Some weeks will be rough and down on miles and some like a rocket ship high numbers. It's a tough question for anyone to answer.

They try to get you to the closest one. But if its full they give you the option of which one to go to.
