Been reading this thread, spotty about the last 150 or so posts. Seems to be working out for you BigKid!
The thing that concerns me is the post that stated all trucks leased mow have e-logs.
Never ran them, never really want to. I understand the industry is headiing that way, but how will it affect your ability to earn like you have been with wait times at shippers and receivers? Pertaining to detention, etc? More $ driving for an hour than getting an hours detention.
    Examples of my concerns:
-5 loads out of the week (or 70/8 ) you spend an avg of 2 hrs at each end. Thats 10 hrs that at the end of the week could be used to haul an earning load.
-Rolling over your hours staying out weeks at a time, which can be beneficial, would turn into a life living at truckstops due to only "X" number of hours available, according to the almighty elog.
-Stuck in an Alanta parking lot for an hour, so instead of getting "there" tonight, it will be tomorrow afternoon.

Paper is easy, elogs seem to be a donation of time/money.

I don't know, maybe I'm unjustifiably concerned about this new fangled, government mandated technology impeding my ability to earn tax money!:biggrin_25523:

I agree with you completely and that is why I chose paper when I started here. The thing is that a lot of the guys on elogs cheat using those by driving on line 5 or off duty driving and just hope that if they get pulled in for an inspection once DOT sees they have elogs they don't look at them. If they do look at them and they know what they are doing they are caught with no way out. At least on paper they would need other info to catch you if you know what you are doing. The company does audit our logs though so we can't really cheat anyways. Main problem I have with elogs is I am an ultra conservative less rules less government oversight the better person.

May give ACT a call today to get some more info. If I decide to apply I'll pm you for referral info. I like the fact they are a small company,e-logs dont bother me as Im on them here. I just am really goin to need health insurance and unfortunately it doesnt sound like my current company is in any hurry to make it available to us lease guys. I like the ability to bring a pet to thats a definite plus in my book. Do you guys do much freight touching?

Well unfortunately he's the one I talk to. I may try emailing recruiting to see if I get a different response. According to him the dogs must be under 20lbs which is why I said small. My boxer rides right at 40lbs to 45lbs. She's a lightweight :) I didnt inquire any further after he told me no insurance. He said as lease drivers you are expected to provide your own. Thats the line I get here, abd I understand that but now I need health insurance for my wife so guess I'll keep lookin.
