Advice is to go as slow as necessary to be safe. Safety is the biggest thing at SNI. There is no such thing as taking to much time to make a turn. If you have do it in 1st gear to be safe then so be it. Keep it in no more than 4th for right turns and 5th for left turns. On curving ramps keep it at 5 below the posted speed limit.

In reality you will choose the gear die your turn based on your truck. Each one is different. They are all 10 speeds, but the gearing has been slightly different in each I've driven. I know I can usually make lefts in 6 or 7 in this truck. But the DD15 has plenty of power and is ok to lug down to ~1k rpm. In my old century with the Detroit 60 Series I had to do most lefts in 6th and just run the rpm way up because 7th was to low.

Also watch out for those #### 4 Wheelers. They will be where they shouldn't most of the time and will not think twice about changing lanes so close that they are scraping the bugs off you're bumper. Then they will slam the brakes to see if you're paying attention. Stop lines on the ground are usually under their back bumper if not 20 feet behind them.

Also, DO NOT wave anybody to go. If they are in you're way just sit there and stare angrily at them until they figure it out. No flashing lights to let people know they are clear either.

Get out and look at least once while doing the driving test for backing. Even if you don't really need to.

Always use three points of contact while climbing in/out/on the truck. When you couple shut the engine off and get under there to look at the jaw. Remember the 2nd gear tug immediately after hooking too.

Most if it is common sense stuff that you likely already know. Not saying i'm perfect, but I've seen some real idiots out here miss some of it as well.

If it's a Cascadia the fuses are behind the passenger side glove box. You need a T-20 Torx bit to get the 4 screws out. There's a label on the top of the glove box after removing it. It lists what all the fuses are and there's locations in the panel.

After removing the glove box there is also a plastic water shield that you will have to take out. It is somewhat flexible but can be difficult if you don't have it turned just right while trying remove it.

You might end up just pulling fuses one by one until you find the blown one. The sticker on mine was not very helpful when I blew out 2 of my 12V outlets. They are Mini ATC fuses. The 12V ports should be a 20A fuse.

Lil update on my progress...Went this morning and got another dot physical done and did all my drug screens.( and now i need a new haircut after all the chunks they took out)lol...Afterwards went to my home terminal that ill be running out of and met up with mike and ryan( dbl's) both were really helpful gave me tips and hints on my orientation. less nervous about it now for sure but i guess its good to have some nerves goin on...Also found out on this account that 90% of the time we do our 10 hr right at the terminal, which is nice because i live mins away and they said since i live so close that more often then not ill be able to sleep in my own bed... I'm taking everything with a grain of salt tho..Met quite a few drivers up there and their all really helpful and friendly which is nice to kno if i have any questions theres always someone to ask.. The truck wash station is a automatic but they do have brushes and pressure washers there if you wanna get it extra shiney..lol...fuel right in the yard not on the road and i'll be back at the terminal numerous times thru the day they said.. Can't wait to get thru my orientation and get working.. being off sucks and i'd much rather be driving.. They also have ice machines here as well as vending machines...Mike said drivers are more then welcome to fill a cooler for the day and just take food so you dont have to buy a bunch of food.. I am on a 5 on 2 off schedule...alltho im not sure exactly how that works cause i get 56 hrs off at home a week...they have many diff options up here too that i didnt kno were available like part time/flex schedule that is on salary...all in all im lovin every min of my schneider experience so far... ill keep yall updated and if you have any questions about that oc/terminal let me kno im from here so i can prolly get you in a quicker and better road way then the 43 they want you to run... Thanks again to all the help in making my decision to drive for schneider that much easier!!!

set up for a 45 is the usual. Basically you pull the cab one whole space past the spot you want then turn 90 to start to orient the trailer, then back to starting direction. Puts the rightish bend in it and sets you up sweet. Once you hit the hole GOAL then finish your back. ALWAYS wear your seatbelt.
