Arrrgghh!!
Well, stalled out on medical hold before I even start LOL. 1995 I was tested for Sleep Apnea, had the major surgery done that removed just about everything in the back of the throat. Remember I said 1995.. Well, I have no records of the surgery, only physical proof. Medical says I need the final test results that says I am negative for sleep apnea, that was 16 years ago.. Regence blue cross purges thier files after 7 years. (cries) BUT.. a great lady at customer service looked into the purged records and thinks she found the file in the huge data server in the sky. Will find out Friday.
Due to VA disability I also had to set up an appointment with my doctor to verify that I CAN do all that is required of a trucker. Getting that done on Wed. Will not lie, I am stressing over all this. BUT, patience and a deep breath will lead to all being good.
All in all, my recruiter and the medical team were wonderful, understanding and very helpful. I have nothing but good to say about them.
Wish me luck, may not get to orientation for a couple more weeks. But honesty is always the best policy. Better to get all this taken care of now, then to have something I should have said come out that could cause alot more trouble. -
Good luck with you app. I hope it all works out for ya

I am 30% service connected and I sure would like to know more about this please. Please PM me if you don't want to post public. You may also email me at jfleland AT gmail DOT com
Thank you!
Good Luck and let us know what happens please. -
Don't mind posting public if it will help others.
After the phone interview I was transfered to the Medical team, was asked at one point if I ever received a disability rating, as I said yes, they sent me a form that I had to have my doctor fill out saying that I am fully fit to perform the duties of a Truck Driver. I set up an appointment with my medical provider for a Annual Physical. During the appointment, I explained to the doctor along with showing him the paperwork what Schneider required. My doctor filled out and signed the paperwork, and I sent it back to the Schneider Medical team.
Through out the whole process, I had a direct line to the Schneider medical team, any questions I had they were VERY helpful. It was clear that they wanted to do everything they could to keep me well informed. I honestly felt that they wanted me to succeed. It is clear that Schneider is extremely focused on thier drivers and safety.Joel Leland and 123456 Thank this. -
This is why I am going with Schneider. They give me the same impression. Drivers and safety first. I have been in aviation maintenance for 30+ years and I know how important people and safety are.
Thank you for your feed back! I start orientation in Dallas OCT 16. -
Excellent!!
Good luck, I am hoping to get to Orientation in Fontana on the 2nd of OCT. -
How did this come up and what were they asking you to prove?
Thanks! -
After my phone interview I was transfered to the Medical team. One of the questions was "Have you ever been diagnosed or treated for Sleep Apnea?" As I had in 1995, I responded with a yes. Schneider requires that if you answer yes, you need to submit the Negative test result that shows you no longer suffer from Sleep Apnea. Because my Surgery was done in 1995, I was unable to get a copy of those records. (Medical records are only held for 10 years then destroyed) So, I went to the sleep clinic and sat down with the doctor, explained my situation and she prescribed me a CPAP machine, and set me up with a Home Sleep Test.
I sent the perscription into Schneider along with a rental agreement form. This satisfied thier requirements. When I take the Home Sleep test, I will send those results into Schneider, if I meet thier requirements and do not require a CPAP, then all is good. If I do not meet the requirements, then I will be set up with a Machine in my truck.
Hope this helps
