Thanks to all for your posts, as they are most appreciative. My eight years in the service were very memorable. I still get together with several former shipmates, as we have a facebook site for one of the squadrons we served in. I did all my service either in a squadron, AIMD or ships company aboard the USS Saratoga CV-60.

Again thanks - - stay safe and alert.

    brooklyn50 Thanks this.

Thanks to Buffalo664, Brooklyn50 and GAPathfinder for your service to our country, I too am a fellow vet, (Navy 1983-1991) "Gator Freighter". Heading to Werner in two weeks, myself looking forward to experience like bootcamp all over again.

I was a gator Freighter from 85-91 and 01-06. Germantown, Iwo Jima, and Nashville. Great career.

Good luck with everything rather you go USX or Arnold shipmate! I served 7 years Navy 97-04 USS Einsenhower AIMD and HSL-41 Seahawks. I was an AE.

My only concern with USX or Arnold is their duck walk. I am 6` 5" tall, 300 lbs. While I can do the duck walk...my back scrapes the rope set at 42". I practice everyday with my exercising to get more flexible. Looking at a couple other companies as backup.

Just found that it is 44" not 42" for the 5-step duck walk. Will be okay with continued daily practice and exercise.

I don't even recall seeing the line on the wall when I did mine. She just told me to duck walk and after I took about 3 steps she said okay your good.

Yeah, I'm 6'3" and I just squatted down until my butt almost hit the floor and kept my head way down. She laughed and said I had plenty of room.
