While driving down the road the truck will shut down for approximately two seconds. Check engine light and shut down light will come on for about two seconds also but no buzzer. Tach will drop down to around 1300 rpm. Lose about a mph or two. Feels almost like you bumped the key for a second and right back on. Road conditions or anything else does not seem to make a difference. Doesn't happen very often. I had the computers scanned/checked and no codes out of the ordinary. Could this be fuel delivery or throttle positioning switch??? Very intermittent...hard to fix when it ain't broke.
Anyone else experience this issue?
Truck is a 2001 FLD Freighliner with a 60 series detroit. Bone stock.
Thanks in advance

If no codes, something is causing a shut down. Have someone scan the computer to see what caused the shut down.
-
Sometimes the micro processor or the software to run the mini computer will have a glitch. May have to be reprogrammed or new hardware.

I would guess that you're losing ignition power and the check lamps are coming on the same as if you just turn the key on without the engine running. I would look at the breakers and relays and feel for a hot one.
Could also have a hot wire intermittently shorting to ground, common at the starter connections. -
start looking for bad wiring someplace. Check your grounds too.

Agreed. Start in the battery box and work your way forward. -
Happened to me once. Shop said it was the computer, replaced it, nvr had the problem again.

Before we start replacing $3000 ECMs, lets look at the ignition and ECM feed wiring like the guys said. Anj8488, I bet in your case they ordered and replaced the ECM and road tested it, same problem, then repaired the wiring without telling you, making you think the ECM was faulty!

my FL century was doing same exact problem ,mainly when i went through bumpy roads.had a loose ECM wire at the batteries fixed it and solved the problem.good luck buddy

my truck would try to shut down only on hard right turns. bad wire connection at e.c.m. ground. replaced entire ground wire.
