It depends on how you come in... CDL or not, if your experience is dated enough you'll come in through the PSD course - and you'll get a learners permit.

Given that you will probably be leaving Springfield in a truck, the "extended period" may be longer than you think...

They have a parking lot for drivers - its assumed that the vehicle will be there for awhile. You just need to let security know its there.
