Well been a great start to week out after TAH. Sitting in Dallas waiting for the truck to get a "charging" issue fixed. Long story short batteries will not hold a charge. Not even with everything turned off all night. Made for a hot night with the little fan staying off in the bunk. But oh well. Good luck to new drivers coming in. I been out here for almost 90. So far so good. And again if there are any new drivers looking at the Mil Apprenticeship Program I can help with questions. So far found out that they were waiting for the approval letter that I am supposed to get but was not told that. So when I called the VA they told me they had no hours yet for the last 2 and half months. Hmmmmm so I called mil recruiters division and they sent in hours. Will let ya know when I get first check for those who are curious. It has been almost 3 months so far. That will be a nice backpay. Hope everyone has a good weekend wherever you are.

I have a question maybe an idea ...let me know what you think and this possibly already exists so just let me know if it does.... I think it would be nice if "thetruckersreport" was an app for iphone, android phones.... Also if they had a chat or im option to talk directly like in a chat room with a certain compant like schneider drivers or other company chat rooms...What do yall think?

I can tell you from experience bp is serious and i had to be put on meds for it..i was told if your too high they will send you packing... advice for you i would say dont smoke or chew tobacco 2 hrs prior to the test... cut sodium out of your diet almost completely if you can go without it.. also watch what you drink...pop contains alot of sodium as well as caffeine so try to just drink water at least the day before and day of your stress test.. also try to relax the night b4 like no exercising or anything like that as it will also raise ur bp.. another hidden tip is to take a baby aspirin b4 ur bp reading as it thins your blood ultimately lowering your bp...goodluck and if you follow my tips you should do just fine.. i am a paramedic if your wondering how i kno these things

I used to work as a medical assistant doing DOT physicals...some tips for keeping your BP down:
    1) Relax (this is the hardest one to do, but try. Also have the MA let you sit for a few min. before your BP is taken)
    2) Make sure your bladder is empty (a full bladder will raise your BP)
    3) Don't cross your legs and keep them level on the floor (crossing your legs or having the chair cut off your circulation will raise your BP)
    4) Don't talk before or while your BP is being taken (also hard to do if the MA is chatting with you)
    5) Try to reduce your sodium intake, and drink plenty of water a couple days before so you're not bloated
    6) Don't do any strenuous exercise for a couple hours before you go to your appointment
Hope this helps, sometimes you just have high BP and there's nothing you can do to prevent it.
