Sometimes its impossible to get enough sleep time. I don't drink coffee or take any kind of drugs. What do you do in a situation like this?

The best thing to do would be to take a quick power nap when you feel yourself getting tired. Or if you absolutely can't, crank that stereo, blast the AC on max, and roll the window up on your little finger repeatedly until the pain wakes you up.

Look for the signs of falling asleep. At night I think I see a wolf or coyote running next to the truck but its just the shadows from my head lamps, that's when I know its time to stop. Everybody is different though but remember the risk is never worth the reward when it comes to driving fatigued.

Don't drive would be the best and really only thing to do. Otherwise your kinda asking to die.

When you start feeling tired--STOP--take a walk--stretch--relax--then see how you feel--if that doesn't help--Take a NAP--the longer you do this the more accustom your body and mind will become. As a new driver--do not let--anyone determine how much you drive--I know dispatch etc.--will expect certain things--you will be worried about miles and money--As a rookie you need to tell yourself that none of these things matter--listen to your body and respond to it. If you are meant to--or really want to do this for a living--you will begin to adapt and driving long periods of time will become easier and easier. BUT there is NO magic cure for getting enough rest.
Just my $.02Giggles the Original, tinytim, chalupa and 2 others Thank this. -
you have 14 hours from the time you start your clock 11 can be spent driving so there is a 2-2 1/2 hour window for a nap since you have 15 minute pre and 15 minute post trip

I agree power nap 30 minutes, splash your face with water and walk around the truck. But like the lad said above no load is worth a a life.
