I got the morning off from school today because I'm doing my night driving tonight. This has given me time to make some phone calls and get caught up on things.

Most important on the list was calling Epes and figuring out why I couldn't resubmit my application online. Easy solution...create a new log in and start over.

I just finished the application and now I'm waiting to hear back. I really hope it doesn't take long!!

She then smiles "loudly" and waves then shows me her boobs! YEAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally! But, waitaminute....she wasn't that bad looking.....she was only around her MID 50's! And all I saw WAS NIPPLE! lol sheesh. just my luck! FML!!!!!!!!! It only happens to the dinkster!!!!!!!!! lol

I can't top that story but we did get a surprise today. We were suppose to start taking our pre-trip test next week followed by the backing test and then the road test. We still have 3 weeks in the class. I went out on the road this morning and when we got back at lunch we found out that we had started pre-trip test and also the backing test. So, after lunch it was my turn.

    Pre-trip - 100
    straight line back - 100
45 back - -2 points (I let my bumper go past the line)

Guess we will start road test some time next week but who knows.

Must have been the week for them to be in FL, Dinky. I was on the way to Tampa, running I95 almost to the I4 split. Steady rain, car comes up beside me, in no hurry to pass. I look down, nice looking lady has shirt up, boobs out, just chillin out riding down the highway. I lay on the horn, she pulls back over in front of me, I'm trying to get all I can out of my 63 mph truck, manage to get past her because of merging traffic. She is rubbing and tugging on her nipples like you ain't never seen. Long story short, I managed to pass her and make her pass me back three or four times til I had to bear off on I4. She acted like she was going my way and then cut across the emergency lane and stayed on I95. All the while, rubbing and tugging on her nipples. I never got my eyes down far enough to see where she had her other hand or if she may have had a toy buried deep in her lap. haha. This was my first sighting, hopefully not my last and made a rainy day in FL a whole lot brighter for me.

I had one of those not long after i started driving coming up through gastonia at about 2am at the 21.....silver car comes up beside me and starts pacing me and soon as i looked over the light flipped on inside and there's a guy driving and a girl and she's on all fours in the passenger seat with no pants on......backs her ### up against the window and reaches under and starts wearing herself out with her fingers.....ran along beside me for about 2 miles like that and he turned off the light and off they went.....watched them pull up to the truck about a 1/2 mile in front of me and saw the light come on inside again lol.....nothing else like that since but i keep hoping

was an irritating week from start to finish......and two firsts this week.....

my first late delivery that was entirely on me.....had a trip delivering in winston with 2 days to run it and got in town a day early....had a preplan out same day and the original plan was to drop the load i was on and get the preplan and go.....get to the yard at 1000 and check in and have the preplan figured so i've got just enough time to fuel, drop and go.....well, customers says you can deliver at noon just go grab lunch or something and deliver and grap the next one.....went right by me that if i do that i'm late on the next one and fat dumb and happy call the wife and meet her for lunch.....get to the cons at 1145 and end up taking 2 hours to unload 5 pallets.....head on to the pickup in rural hall and strikes me time is getting short but i got 2hrs in during lunch with the wife so with a split should be good to go.....just end up there at the cons out of hours and have to sit for 10

run as far up 35 into ohio as i can before time runs out and shut down and go to bed....get up after 7:45 and when the 8 clicks over was dumbfounded to see that i only got back 0:40.....i'm sure the look on my face was priceless with 5hrs still to go and to the minute for delivery......scrolled back through the log and when i stopped for lunch with the wife i only got 1:58 in on the break....how i missed that is beyond me.....had to suck it up and sent in the late message and just manned up and took responsibility for it....they sent a message back and said don't worry about it it happens sometimes and they would advise the cons.....

10 minutes later the phone rings and it's dispatch....he said really to not worry about it....the main thing was that i didn't try to blame it on anything or anyone else and in 15 months it was my first one....said they have some guys who are late repeatedly and it's never their fault they always try to blame it on something else and never admit they screwed it up....so to have that integrity to own it and be honest about it meant something and it wouldn't be held against me considering i always deliver on time or early and my eta is always right on the money....being ultimately 4hrs late after having to take the full 10 didn't make me feel any better as i hold myself to a higher standard than that but also nice to know they took into consideration my good record as well....and that they knew it would be a long long time before it ever happens again lol....

and oh yeah.... Dinky if you run that 35 route to plainfield, don't run 35 all the way up lol that's where you had your issue was going too far....get off on 75 then 20 miles up to 70 and run it the rest of the way across instead of running 35 all the way out like you did lol no bridge closures doing it that way haha i always jump off on 75 and it's quicker than running all the way up the way you went

another first of a more humorous nature.....after that one i left plainfield for seymour.....and got to meet my first real live supertrucker lol.....guy in the door beside me.....a swifty....got out in his shorts, tank top and knee socks and sandals ( i know most of you could have done without that visual lol) and started asking me about the company.....then proceeded to tell me about his days running government jobs....nuclear weapons....6 trucks running from air force bases on the east coast to secret mountain installations in california...how they always closed the scales for them and waved them through and they ran 80-90 all the way and always shadowed by black crown vics and government agents....no logbooks and the truckstops would be cleared when they had to fuel lol oh what stories he had.....all i could do to keep from laughing at him considering he was driving for swift now and his truck was beat up so bad it looked like it should have been scrapped...the entire right front side was held together by black tape.....the fender and grill was cracked all the way through from top to bottom and with all that tape holding it together it looked like a sprint cup car that had had the front end rebuilt with bear-bond lol.....

so he gets the green light and this supertrucker stops in mid-sentence, sprints to the cab and pulls out.....then up the hill and out of the gate....no paperwork, doors wide open....down the raod he goes....shipping guy running after him across the lot trying to stop him to get his paperwork and seal....made my whole day i was laughing so hard at him.....wonder how far that supertrucking wonder got down the road before he realized he was missing something and forgot to do a few things before he left lol.....

got in mid-day friday and in for a few days.....more legal bs with the wife's moron ex husband....now he's trying to file a no contact order against me so i have to go fight that.....he's sure trying to make life difficult but he is desperate at this point and grasping at straws.....if i can turn it around and turn it into a witness intimidation and harassment suit i'm going to.....i've about had my fill of this guy.....when all of it's over he may well need that no contact order....

so, in till tuesday and then i'll end up having to run the weekend through and into next week just to make up the time i lost dealing with bs....but no issues from the company....i've kept them advised all along and they realize i'm dealing with a bs issue and the bottom line is the welfare of the kids is the root of the whole thing....they've been very accomodating so far....i'm just glad it's almost over with....

FlyingM. Did that Super Trucker look to be about 70 years old, skinny, maybe a goatee, and wear a cowboy hat? If so he also used to work at Roehl Transport. I met a guy fitting the above description at Roehl orientation several years ago. He told the same stories. Said some of the trucks were filled with money they were going to burn. Talked about when they got to the delivery point they drove into buildings or caves. Can't remember which, and the trucks would be lifted up by elevators or something. Crazy old man. He was interesting but so are aliens and closet monsters.

lol nope....looked to be maybe just a little older than me....early 50's at the oldest....to do the things he claimed when he claimed to have done them would have put him at about 18-20 when he was burning up the highways on the secret weapons missions......i've heard about guys telling these stories at the truckstop counters but never heard one until this guy....he was so full of it but it was funny....sounded like he'd told the same bs stories so many times he probably actually believed them himself at this point......an drving for swift now? hehehehe really? someone like that with that background could write their own ticket and sure wouldn't be talking about those kinds of operations to start with.....

alot like a guy i had working for me a few years back at the airport....not only the type of jobs he said he did but we added it up once and to do all the jobs he'd said he'd done for the time he said he'd done them meant he would have been working 5 years before he was born lol

you meet all kinds out here that's for sure......

That's way I love trucking. You may have to put up with a lot of crap, but at the end of the week you have some of the best stories to tell. I've been off the road now for 2 years and I'm getting back in. I've missed it. Stay safe!
