Another thing I forgot to mention is it helps when looking to be somewhat outgoing, I know is hard for some me I can be introverted. But my husband is pretty outgoing and even asks truckers at truck stops and he said they always tell him places to go and give him their 2 cents. I also thought it was nice of the lady from Nabors, the place I sent him to, to advice him to go to the place he got the job. She said they were only hiring for 1 yr exp so she told him where to apply. Even a lady from one of the hotel he was staying advised him of a place she heard about. I like people like that!!!

With all the hiring and fireing and quiting ive seen in the oil fields do many of these outfits use DAC? We all know schneider does.

Thanks for checking in JahB. Sounds like you got a gig in the area you were looking for and staying busy getting good experience. You got lucky not coming to S TX with the outfit I'm working for. We have not worked for a few days, going to get a 3 day paycheck for last week. Hope you wife enjoys the new spot too.

I love it fungirl!!! So happy to hear it worked out for y'all. You will like living in South TX much better than West TX in my opinion. You are right, when you get further West things get more spread out. Now you can visit San Antonio, Austin, Corpus, Houston, etc with just a little bit of driving.
I was pleased to hear the lady at Nabors gave your husband some good info about where to apply with little to no experience. I went to a job fair before I got the job I have now and everyone wanted 2 years CDL A experience but no one would tell me the name of a company that would hire me right out of CDL school. Gives me a lot more respect for Nabors.
I hope your husband enjoys working for Basic Energy and do check in from time to time to let us know how it is going. -
would 1 of you drivers explain to some of the Newbies what Dac is and how it can affect new guys or anyone for that matter. I dont have much of a problem yet but ive only been driving for....

others can probably do better but there are several things that you will have to look up, of note here is the T.W.I.C. card and hazmat, whatever a D.A.C. report actually is, a search for that goes to saying that it is some kind of " ..... detailed summary of a trucker's work history in the trucking industry" <= (thetruckersreport) ..... for my two cents I will be looking for smaller companies that run off-road to the extent possible but be sure there will be critical remarks on the matter

Ouch. Sounds like its time to run for the hills. Have you tried any well service companies?

Twobeef and Bengunn
I keep hearing there are yards on every corner, so do these guys get let go from one and go across the street and get another job? Way out west I keep hearing they have more positions than drivers.nicholas_jordan Thanks this. -
Well, I just picked up a couple of classified ads and found a few different companies that still appear to be hiring. And it sounds like some of our guys who were let go in the first round were able to find more work. It sounds like I'm gonna have to start calling around now, though.
