Fine if you like hauling groceries to the east coast.

I lasted there just under 3 months......worse company I ever drove for. The truck they gave me didn't have a qualcomm and the dispatcher they assigned to me wanted me to run that way constantly.
There wasn't a day that went by in my time there that she didn't want me to to run over my 14 or 11. It was totally frustrating and aggravating. I made 3 calls to people that were suppose to help new drivers work out difficulties.......all they would say is, " maybe you two are just having a communication problem" and I'm thinking, did your degree help ya figure that one out.
Nothing was done about the situation and I was stuck with that dispatcher so I said I had enough and quit.
Most of their trucks are older Internationals, they do have some newer Prostars they bought from Celadon I believe, but all those trucks are in the shop alot because Celadon got rid of them because they had problems with them.
To make a long story short, I wouldn't even suggest this company to my enemy. -
couldnt they give u a diffrent dispatcher? if not i dont blame ya. itll only take a couple of those running over hours violations to damage ur record for a long time

But I've heard their benefits are excellent.

anyone still with Don Hummer! just trying toget some info on current D.H. trucking now a days hows the equipment frieght lanes and average length of haul

This company deserves an update. I have worked here for 8 months. If you have a problem go talk to Chris Hummer. He will gladly sit down and talk it out. They are safe, the equipment is no older than 3 years, and if you have a problem they fix it. I know there are some bad comments on here and don't get me wrong it's not perfect! but they actually care. Need home time? ask. Don't go well with your dispatch? (I had this) Ask. They pay well, nice equipment, they care, and they try to improve constantly. I would recommend this to my best friend(and have). P.M. me if you have questions. This is not for referrals I just think they need a fair shake!!

Sounds like a good company

They are decent folk. Been there since September 2014. Ron is the best driver manager I've ever known. Alas...I did get a better offer somewhere else so I'll be leaving Hummer but had that great offer not been given I would still be sticking with Hummer.
