He was doing orientation when I went thru in late November 2011, but he was transitioning into Barn training instructor for the next week's session, so I believe he is doing the barn training now. I think Jeff is still there doing Load Securement training.
I heard that Chris is over in Ft. Smith now.

That's cool my recruiter told me oreintation has changed a lot since I was there. She said you don't have to take the road test on that Tuesday instead you take it when you are done being out with a trainer which is cool. Do you know if anything else has changed. I have been studying my log books and pre trip inspection like crazy

I took my road test the second or third day we were there. I doubt much has really changed. I live N of Dayton, OH about 20 minutes. No, I am not a trainer. Just a flatbedder on one of Maverick's dedicated accounts.

At Maverick TCD drivers DO NOT TOUCH freight. That's what lumpers are for. Maverick would rather pay a lumper than take a chance on one of us getting hurt and thus a workers comp claim. You'll touch a lot more freight in flat bed than we ever do.

The only people who take a road test during orientation are experienced drivers. Everyone else is after you come back in from your trainer, and is done in the simulator. I am finishing up in the barn this week. The orientation instructors for us were David and Scotty. Out in the barn, we have had Lou, Jeff, Dustin, and Gary.

That's awesome I bet the simulator is really cool. How was oreintation when I went Sunday we filled out some paperwork and then Monday we took a physical drug test and started computer training and then had a physical on my back that's where I made It to then had to leave. What else happens in oreintation? Do you have to do a pre trip. Good luck!
