I was told all the same before I started on Frac. If they say they make that much, ask to see a pay stub. Most of the time it's exaggerated. Best a pump op made was $109k in a year, with large pad jobs plug and perf. Those are fast becoming extinct, mostly ball drops now. Ask a base manager what discounts are being given away right now to get the work. It's insane.

And it's always gross pay, everyone's net pay is different.

Can you make good money fracing, yes. Will you break six figures, don't count on it. It can happen, but don't expect it.

We are talking about a Frac pump operator. If you we're a blender tender or higher, your bonus's are higher. Then yes you can make bigger money.

As a green hand, I call BS.

    oilfield Thanks this.

First 12 months you won't break 100k. From Your 6th month to your 18th month 100k is possible. And I would have to disagree, and say pump hands can and do make 120/year.

    oilfield Thanks this.

As boom trucking says check the discounts, seen a lot of 65-85% discounts this year. And in the cement side that doesn't amount to much of a bonus.

Our company will not work for gas frac cause we are beside the well all day in the hot zone, and I agree, what the frac sup told me is questionable, all depends on jobs worked, I am glad I am hourly over my base, sand off, blender crash, whatever its all money in the bank for me.

I am on a sweet one right now, imperial 5 well pad, been here since last Monday racking up the hours, almost too bad I go on days off tomorrow, I could handle more days of this.

I have no clue how this pic ended upside down??

Keep applying, sooner or later someone will give you a break. Don't be to picky on what you will do.

There's an ad on kijiji right now for a fluid hauler from Lloyd to Rimbey, that would be a sweet run, need driver ASAP it reads.
