I started in 1990. I left the road in 1997. Came back in Mar 2012. I got a job no problem driving truck with a regional carrier.
And I never did any stupid "retraining" for my CDL either.
In July 2012, I bought my own truck.
Something I have always wanted since about 1993. -
If you drove a truck before, you know how to drive, it should not be a big deal. But OTR in Hawaii?????? That morning and afternoon traffic is horrible.

No problem, Brah! Traffic only sits between 6 am until oh, say, 7pm.
Sometimes is break around 12-1.
Peeps in DFW, Tx, complain about the traffic. I say, if it's moving, it's good!
Spent too many hours sitting n traffic on Moanalua Freeway and da H1 out Wai'anae side!
But at least was a beautiful ocean view sitting in Nanakuli traffic.
No spam musubi in Texas and sure no mo' poi! An no surf!
