Heya im expecting an orientation next monday and im aware that i will be asked to do a 45 degree ally dock and a road test. Are they reaaly strict about it or not really? Do they fail if you mess up once? Also how long does orientation last ?

A full week. They aren't real strict.. If you hit the barrier u have 1 more chance a later day to retry. You have like 15 mins to dock a 45!! Make sure u G.O.A.L. 3 times when you do it. Also, use 3 points of contact each time you get in and out. Believe me they are waching that. The road test is pretty long compared to other companies. Just show them you are a safe driver. You will also do a Smith System ride around in the company van with your class and a guy from safety.

I'm not sure because I passed both first try. I can tell you that a guy in my class timed out twice doing the backing. Then did pretty poorly on his road test and he wasn't heard from or seen after that. Smith System is you each take a turn driving the van the Smith System way, you say Smith System phrases as you drive along. Such as "There goes a dirty car" (Means a car parked on the side with someone in it or beside it). " I see a car on my left they didn't make eye contact I'm going to cover the horn". Things like that.

Its all very easy. If I can do it, so can you. Unless your flat out horrible lol. I suck at backing but its getting better over time. If ur a student they will send u to crowder college (if ur going to joplin for orientation) and crowder will fine tune you a little and prepare u. U get pretested here. If u fail here, they might send u packin so be respectfull to ur trainers and they might give u a second chance. After 5 days at crowder (and A LOT OF KFC) you will go out with a finisher for 10000 miles then be tested for real at joplin before u get ur own truck. Believe me after 10k+ miles u will be ready. Except for the. Obstacle course. At crowder I scored a 76 out of 150 (need 60 to pass) then at jop I failed it first and the let me retake and I got a 108.trust me its no big deal. Hope you get a decent trainer tho. AVOID RAUL and bogdan.

Hmm... I never had to do the obstacle course. Is that just for students coming in or what? I saw it, it didn't look that hard honestly. Looked like it's there for you to help keep your eyes in your mirrors.
