It's a ##### trying to get that first job! Anybody willing to take you has questionable business and personell problems. Do your home work....It will scare you!

Not true, jdhall is a very negative (dud) dude. Just start reading all the post and eventually you will make your own decision.
Just be careful this industry does have its ups and downs.bmcintyre Thanks this. -
I had a 30 year career in land surveying. That went to crap when the housing market crashed.
I did four weeks at a community college, got my state plastic and was in orientation at KLLM within a week. I did a year over the road and then moved into a dedicated (with the same company) route getting me home nightly.
If you have a clean driving and personal record then you can get in at many many places. The downside is most likely it will be over the road, gone from home 25 days a month, unless you do some serious searching for a local job.
Good luck.
Trucking will get you a paycheck. Driving clean and getting loads delivered on time will get you a good paycheck.
Mikeeeebmcintyre and Cobra67y20 Thank this. -
Im not negitive at all....truely. I'm ready and trying to jump on board with the right company.
Being a newbe and possibly my age factor is a tuff sell. The few that have called I appreciate more than you know. When you check them out on line and you find all this negitive stuff, you must step back and ponder your future. Is this the right place? Like pmracing I'm walking away from a 30 year carrear. Can't afford another mistake in my life.
Truth told I have decided on Swift trucking. Leave next month. Truth be told again the deciding factor was that they were out of NY. Something happens I can always get home to Ma. -
thank you i have a family member that has his own truck i'm going to work for him hopefully after getting a year under my belt.
