Folks I have a question on there surcharge. I hear they pay for empty miles as well as loaded. Lets see if I have this right 50% on loaded the other 50% on empty so if I drive 1000 miles at .40 per mile that's $400.00
Or is it if I drove 1000 miles I only get .40 on 500 miles and if I drove 200 miles DH I get .40 on that what happened to my other 300 miles of surcharge did I loose that just wondering if you can clear this up for me would be great.
Thanks -
LOL... They changed it up just a little bit... The original plan was the $1.20/gal on fuel surcharge calculation, the new one is $2.40... Which equals out to a little less than half of the old plans FSC... But you get it on all miles PLUS the flat rate miles have increased as well to about $1.08ish... However we put some numbers on paper and for us, we would be taking a pay decrease. The only time it would really help out is if you have a 10% or higher DH : LOADED miles ratio... Or at least that's how it looked to us. So since we were (and are) getting less than the 10% DH, we stayed with the old plan. Now if we decide to lease again, I'm not sure if they will require us to go with the 'new' plan or not...

i remember the old plan at $ 4.00 a gallon you needed to do 7 miles a gallon but hauling for Coors with 47,800 in the box and only getting 50 gallons at a time needed to stay under 80,000 it was hard getting fuel for a $ 1.20 a gallon. I have friends still hauling Coors they did the math and said Central found another to get your money. Surcharge is your pay for the week the less you get the less you make. Three years ago when they took the ontime bonus away was $ 20.00 they also took .2 cents a mile away from the O/O and started all the new leasers off at .2 cents a mile less then us that equaled .4 cents more in there pocket. It took 8 months to get are onetime bonus back only to have it be $ 10.00 not many companies even give that type of bonus but still Central hooked up with a lot of money. I also heard your school loan is no longer paid off if you lease a truck if so that sucks. Oh well im glad I was there when I was alittle more money and a lot less crap.

so, if your glad you was there when you was.

question to everyone, thinking of going back to OTR and central is one i would like to go to. Problem is i would have to go to there school seeing that i have not driven in a few years (2 to be exact). I currently am making 16 an hour at my job and get 40 to 45 hours a week.the problem is that just not happy doing what i am doing confined to an office and boss who doesn't give a crap. i would be away from my family but i feel i would make better money on the road. Any suggestions would be helpfull.

if you talked to Jess about it she would say yes you should be LOL

They say the refresher course is $ 1,000.00 and things have changed. Would you make more money big question if you lease truck payments are $ 100.00 a week more then 2 years ago plus the praformence bond and accelerated truck payment both $ 50.00 each your first year will cost more if you go company you may only see .28 per mile unless they look at past experience. I'm not saying don't go just bringing up some changes. I've been gone for a year and a half but still have friends there.
Good luck! -
You CAN mke more, but there are a lot of drivers making that or less. It has a lot to do with you and your DM.
