I ran as an O/O last year for about 6 months. I thought they did a pretty good job of keeping you busy. No shortage of miles, people were great. Kinda miss it. Now that I am back to being a company driver I did call Tom and had a nice conversation with him about coming back on aboard.

Just a quick update. Asked my driver manager to tell me my average miles per week, came out to be 3300 per week for the last 3 months. I haven't taken any time off since Memorial Day so as to save up my off time so I can take it all at once and so I'm off to China next month for 2 weeks. Obviously most drivers will want time off on a more regular basis but I am grateful that the company has worked with me on my particular time off requirements.

You are lucky. I spend as much time setting as I do driving. Never had some many screwed up appointment.

Hell, don't feel bad, I had to sit on Long Island last weekend. Delivered pumpkins out of Farmington, NM to 2 churches in Massapequa and Melville on Saturday morning but my reload wasn't until Monday morning on Staten Island. Luckily, the church in Melville let me leave my trailer there and I bobtailed to a nearby Holiday Inn Express for a day of Chinese food, beer and college football. Thankfully, I was able to use points for the room.
Had a busy week, though. Staten Island to Indy to Denver to Billings and back to Denver, 2900 miles Monday to Friday. Can't do too much the rest of the weekend but I'm going on vacation on Wednesday anyway. -
I'm getting this crap every week. Last week I got 1745 miles. I was told this was going to change. I want to no when. If I'm going to be out over the weekend at least give me the miles to run.

You still with Houg? How's it going there? Talked to Tom H there yesterday and he told me they are adding another 10 company trucks. What's your take on this? Thanks and hope its still going well for you there.

Yep, I'm still here but thinking of leaving, not because I'm unhappy but I just found out that our health insurance premiums have skyrocketed. For the top of the line coverage, no deductibles or co-pays, for my wife and I will cost $780 per month. Even with a $5000 deductible for each of us, it would cost about $450. So I'm going to start looking around and my second question to any company will be about their insurance coverage. I told Tom about this and he understands. This really sucks, I've been very happy here but I can't afford to be spending 10-20% of my salary on health insurance.

Sorry to hear that! Small companies don't have the leverage to get good rates it seems. What's your opinion on their trailer pool? Lots of older trailers it seems?
