ok guys need some advice please. trying to find new job in open deck ecspecially anything that can get me into oversize. here is my problems.
1. have a 13 year old felony and 10 year old dui that was lowered to reckless operation
2. last job i left i had to sign a paer saying i was discharged when i went into quit or they would hold lst 2 checks and put in record i was discharged anyway.
3. am at a job now that i need to leave in a hurry. i work 17-21 hrs a day w/ 3-8 hrs off overweight loads w/ no permits. that job nets me 400-650 a week with no deductions other than taxes.
so as you can guess having a hard time getting w/ a good company.i work hard, deliver ontime and have no tickets or accidents ever but with felony and dui have ended up with companies that have me in even worse situation now than b4. companies see my record and wont look any deeper. i know i have only myself to blame 4 my record but wish people could realize some people can change. i have worked hard at change and have been sober for 9 yrs now. any suggestions on good companies that give chances would be greatly appreciated. would love to work 4 lonestar or pape but apprehensive about putting in app.thanks again for any help
Help please-flatbed job

I'm certainly not going to judge as years ago..Well nuff said there, Advice? GOOD GAWD man don't be afraid to throw out applications.! I would rather be turned down by a good trucking company than a good looking woman.! But that's just me.

I would check out Boyd Borthers, Melton, PGT Trucking, Maverick, Valley, and others. You live in a pretty good area freight. I personally think you can do better than what you are making. You might have to pull a dry van or reefer first and then work towards a flatbed job if you can not find one right away.

Not sure what your background is; but you might want to look at the Oilfield service companies. Something like Sanjel, Halliburton, and Slumberger. Try to get into the Cement Departments where you work with a lighter load. 2inch Iron vs 4 inch Iron that's thickness by the way.... Though with either your going to do driving and stuff. With Frac you work harder; but you move more flatbeds around, including tankers and Overweight vehicles. Cement you do Tankers Mostly when you start then you will move to Mixers and Pump Trucks which care classified as Over weight in a lost of states. You will work 110 hrs in 6 days but you will have $1800 a week to show for it...
Oh yeah I came down to Texas from WA state and I had a Refusal for Breathalyzer back in 1999 Guess what? Its still on my Record... Anything Alcohol Related is on for Life in my home state... -
