Hired in South Texas

crude is my bailiwick spent july and aug down in s tx
saw them Schneider boys at the lacts and fuel stops and it looks like they don't have a clue what there doing just looking at there trucks setup

 

what happend to schnieder? I thought they had like 300 trucks now?

 

@2fuzy....I probably know what you are referring to. Hey, we just drove and pulled what was provided for us. Bunch of the trailers were retrofitted and slow to load/unload. Did have some brand new ones came in that were nice though. Where did you run?

@kdc1899.....not sure how many are still going in the energy sector. The account I was on is gasping for breath. Company wide, I heard they have 14,000 trucks.

Good job haystack! Glad our state had something for you. Stick with that company should take care of you. My advice: prove youself there!, more up within the company, loyality can be a big deal the oil/gas industry and they usually take care of those who prove it MUCH MORE THAN "the trucking industry"

 

haystak88, Did you apply on line from fl? or did you go to texas and apply? if you applied on line how long did it take you to hear from them? do you know how much them give you for relocation? is it paid out all at once or over time? are they working two shifts and is there a pay difference for nights? thank you for all your information.

Do they hire people with no driving experience too? And for housing, don't you not really need the housing because you can live in your truck?

 

Companies like Nabors use day cabs so you are not going to be living in truck. If the company expects that move on. There are rats out the rear doing that in Midland/Odessa-ThreeRivers, Cotulla-other places. They normally wind up getting screwed out of their money. Loves in Odessa, Stripes in Midland are two of the worst. Trash of all races living in squalor and their crap all over the place. 2-7 hours to get a shower. I won't even go into either of them. Kermit and others not as bad. Decent companies like Nabors, Key, too many others to mention will either take care of housing or help you get settled. If you wanna live in truck please head on up to ND, Vernal ,UT or some place where you might be welcomed.

 

So why do good companies in Texas not let you live in trucks while bad companies in Texas lets you live in trucks and ND and Utah lets you live in trucks?

If they provide housing that would be good but why do they want you to have a home when mortgage or rent is so expensive? Wouldn't they be doing a disservice to you by forcing you to get the expensive rip-off rent?
