This is trucking its always been hurry up and wait. Its not a 9 to 5 job and i don't always get the days off I want but thats trucking it has always been like that and it will always be like that. sometimes you just have to man up and do the job
Cyanide Thanks this. -
Xbmann...
While I agree with what you just said, I also disagree concerning the not always getting the days off you want (unless I misunderstood you). I may not always make it home on the exact day I requested (with exception of my son's b-day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, HAVE ALWAYS been on schedule for those), I simply refuse to work for a carrier who can't work with me and makes excuses concerning hometime, especially since I'm giving them 110% of my effort, and on average I have always stayed out 3-4 weeks at a pop. And yeah, trucking is rough and all, but to "man up and do the job" doesn't mean you have to do it for a P.O.S. outfit either.

Yep, I've only been driving ten years or less, but that is just with tankers alone. But hey, if sitting in my cab getting paid for every minute of work while the customer spends 4½ hours loading/unloading like earlier today on a run that made me $1,482 gross for about 2,500 miles is complaining, then sign me up for life! It didn't take me decades of driving to figure out "work smarter, not harder" so I will leave all the old-school outlaw, truck it up big buddy games to you and your kind. If you haven't taken note, drivers like you, and companies like Indian River, are a dying breed and one day the industry will finally be rid completely of both.stabob Thanks this. -

I don't like rumors, but there is one going around that IRT is changing their name. I'm not going to say what the name is that I heard,,,,,,yet. Anyone know if there is any truth to this rumor?
