Do you need to live there or close? or is it camp work?

You need to have your own accommodations in town. When you go out on jobs, motel rooms are provided. Sometimes we stay in camps when hotels are not available or there are no hotels nearby.

Most guys just rent a room. There is one operator that rents rooms in his basement for $450 a month with cable and Internet included.

So basically what you are saying is, "get a room"!!! LoL

If it is only for a few days, are there any cheapo motels around with rooms? or are those booked solid too?

I have had some sets where I was in town the entire time, and others where I was out the entire time. It's a crapshoot.

How far east are you travelling?

Motels are not cheap around here.

So you think can make around 6000-7000/month after taxes, with job bonuses and other perks.

Ummm no not unless you are way up the food chain. I figure I net about 65% of my gross. In a good year as a supervisor I gross around 100k. Do the math. As a green hand you're gonna to well to average 6-7 gross a month. Fraccers make better coin than cementers

You are saying, give and take 65% would be around 4500-5000.
