I was just wondering if anyone else is starting in Gary on the 8th? I have done research and read the negative, I know I will not be home and won't make a lot of money. I am looking to get some experience and start my life as a driver. This has been my dream for years and I am excited to finally be at a place in my life where I can start driving. I have been a school bus driver for over 12 yrs and I am ready!
Starting CRE Gary on Oct 8th anyone else?

Good luck to you! It's great you are doing what you want to do! Are you going to lease with CRE?
-
Ummmmm NO! I have many family members and friends that are truckers and they have all made me promise to not lease right away. They would like me to team, I'm not sure about that yet. They just want me to get some experience and be sure about what I am doing before I sign anything. Eventually I want a pink Volo!
-
DO NOT sign with CRE unless you team or train. I know many drivers including myself that didn't make a dime. I have a nice Cascadia that I got 8 mpg out of and still had a heck of a time. Every company has angry ex drivers but CRE has angry current drivers. Never felt so used in my life. Had an awesome trainer and that was some of the best times in my life but he straight up told me not to lease unless I was getting a student. They canned me in Laredo for an accident that happened two weeks previously and left me stranded. luckily I live in central texas.

NOT. -
They made you promise not to lease "right away"? From CRE?!!
Say it ain't so.
With "friends" like that, ..... who needs enemies?
Just out of curiosity, what is it about C.R. England that's attractive to you? With so many wash-out reports from former England Big truck truck drivers who had high hopes, what makes you think your story will be any different? Are you prepared to accept being kicked to the curb? Fired due to "poor work ethics", CRE's reason of choice for the unusually high failure rate? To have them rub salt in the wound created when the "team" stabs you in the back with a twist of the knife and a dinged DAC report making you unattractive to prospective future employers?
Do you have a plan B worked out, --- just in case things go as they usually do? Considering that many started their career at CRE, and soon after, ended their career there, how do you plan on avoiding that from happening to you too?
Personally, I think signing on with CRE is a mistake, --- but I wish you the best of success,
And hope that you'll keep us informed as to how you're doing.
Good luck CMT.48Packard Thanks this. -
Well I don't plan on leasing and I am just using it to get some experience and get my CDL upgraded. I currenty have a B. I tried Prime and they said up to 18 months for women because they have a shortage of women trainers. I don't care if it's a man but that's the rule. Swift has not called me back. So CRE it is. I am prpaired for the worst and I know I won't make much money but I don't have any bills, my kids are in college and I have no ties. I am ready and done the research. I am looking to get a start. I have money saved in case of an emergency and I get stuck. This is my dream and has been for years I was just waiting for the time to be right and it is. I will most likely team that's wha all my friends and family want me to do. I am excited but I am prepaired I know what I am getting into with them.
AfterShock Thanks this. -
OH, and BTW....don't know if anyone has mentioned this.....but do NOT lease!AfterShock Thanks this. -
AfterShock, yes my friends and family have told me about them that's why I am prepared for the worst. I am using them for my CDL and some OTR experience. If I happen to be one of the lucky ones and have a good experience then good for me if not then I move on. I already have a company that said if I have a few months experience they will hire me and if that don't work I know a lot of people I will get a job somewhere. I want OTR at least for a few years.
AfterShock Thanks this. -
After all, you get a " free CDL license", "paid training"( to the tune of about $200/week.), and the chance to fulfill your DREAM.
I wonder if the Englands started out in the snake oil business, because they could sell milk to a cow.....NavigatorWife and Dewey120 Thank this.
